Divine Mercy Sunday falls on the Second Sunday of Easter. It allows us to uncover the power of trust, trust that each of us can become extraordinary saints amidst our everyday, ordinary lives. Jesus promised to give great graces on Divine Mercy Sunday to all who sincerely asked for this generous gift of Mercy.
So, what must we do to access a gift so great? Trust! That’s all. We have only to trust in the loving mercy of God. Trust allows Him to grant us extraordinary graces, and go on to work in us and through us. Then through our own experience with Divine Mercy we will be inspired to bring Mercy to others through our prayers, words, and deeds.
We must remember to Trust that God will give us His Mercy! However, while this may be easily said, it is not easily done because of our weakness. Here again, God shows His Mercy. He knows our weakness and has promised to help us trust in this powerful feast within the Church.
