experience Divine Mercy Sunday
Receive complete forgiveness of sins and avoid purgatory!
What is divine Mercy Sunday?
Divine Mercy Sunday falls on the Second Sunday of Easter. It allows us to uncover the power of trust, trust that each of us can become extraordinary saints amidst our everyday, ordinary lives. Jesus promised to give great graces on Divine Mercy Sunday to all who sincerely asked for this generous gift of Mercy.
So, what must we do to access a gift so great? Trust! That’s all. We have only to trust in the loving mercy of God. Trust allows Him to grant us extraordinary graces, and go on to work in us and through us. Then through our own experience with Divine Mercy we will be inspired to bring Mercy to others through our prayers, words, and deeds.
We must remember to Trust that God will give us His Mercy! However, while this may be easily said, it is not easily done because of our weakness. Here again, God shows His Mercy. He knows our weakness and has promised to help us trust in this powerful feast within the Church.
TOTAL FORGIVENESS OF SIN
"The soul thAT WILL GO TO CONFESSION AND RECEIVE HOLY COMMUNION SHALL OBTAIN COMPLETE FORGIVENESS OF SINS AND PUNISHMENT."
St. Faustina's Diary 699.
Does this “total forgiveness of sin” sound too good to be true? Yes it does, and that’s the point! The point is that the Feast is too good to be true. God is so good and gracious that He gives us another chance each year to return to Him and to the Fount of Mercy. However, the graces we receive on that day depend on the openness of our hearts. Divine Mercy Sunday is not just one day of repentance but rather a
process of preparation to receive the transforming grace of God’s Love within our hearts. The better we prepare for the feast, the more open we will be to receiving all God wishes to give us on Divine Mercy Sunday.
